Perth, October 31 Former India captain Virat Kohli and his actress wife Anushka Sharma have reacted angrily to a fan allegedly invading their hotel privacy and filming their room as the charismatic batter was playing the ICC T20 World Cup Super-12 game against South Africa on Sunday evening in Perth.
Kohli shared a video on social media that was originally shared by an unnamed person on another social media app with the title ‘King Kohli’s hotel room.’ The brief footage scans the room where Kohli was staying.
“I realize that fans are delighted and excited to see their favorite players and to meet them, and I’ve always enjoyed that,” Kohli wrote on Instagram, with the video filmed by the anonymous fan.
But this video right here is disgusting, and it’s given me serious privacy concerns. Where can I truly expect any personal space if I can’t even have it in my hotel room? This kind of fanaticism and blatant invasion of privacy is NOT acceptable to me. Do not use people as a commodity for amusement; rather, respect their right to privacy.

Virat, Anushka’s hotel room privacy breached; cricketer expresses anger on social media
The claimed video of their hotel room prompted Anushka to vent on social media as well, writing, “Incidents where certain fans have shown neither compassion or grace in the past but this really is the worst thing. A celebrity ho Toh deal karna parega (if you are a star you have to deal with such things)! is an absolute shame and a violation of a human being, and anybody who sees this and believes that, “celebrity ho Toh deal karna parega” should be aware that they are contributing to the issue.
Everyone benefits from practicing self restraint. Where is the limit if this is happening in your bedroom as well? Anushka inquired.
Actress Urvashi Rautela responded to Kohli’s post on her verified account by writing, “Absolutely!! Immoral, unscrupulous, imagine they did the same with a girl’s room #unprincipled #dishonorable,” while Australian batting legend David Warner tweeted, “This is absurd, completely unethical. Was this the (hotel’s name) @crownperth?
