Puneri Paltans and Patna Pirates played out a thrilling draw in the first match of Day 2 of the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League at the Shree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. Aslam Inamdar of Paltan put in an outstanding performance to help his team race to a seven-point lead in the first half. Puneri Paltan took a 5-3 lead in the fifth minute thanks to raids from Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat. Sunil, a Patna Pirates defender, made a couple of fantastic tackles, but Puneri Paltan kept pushing forward.
However, in the 11th minute, the Pirates inflicted an ALL OUT to take a three-point lead at 12-9. However, Puneri Paltan quickly reduced Patna to two members on the mat and reclaimed the lead at 15-13. Soon after, Alankar Patil of Puneri Paltan went ALL OUT on Rohit Gulia.
The Pune team rode the momentum and led comfortably at the halftime break, 23-16.
Highlights Patna Pirates vs Puneri Paltan: In the second half, the Pirates played with a bit more urgency. As the Pirates got closer to Puneri’s score, Sachin chipped in with a couple of raids. Patna scored an ALL OUT in the 27th minute to take the lead at 26-24. Soon after, Rohit Gulia led an incredible raid to help the Pirates extend their lead.
However, the Pune team fought back with raids from Akash Shinde and Aslam Inamdar to tie the game at 30-30. Both teams kept winning points and were tied at 34-34 in the final minute of the game.
The Patna Pirates and Puneri Paltan, on the other hand, treaded carefully and were content with a tied result in the end. Gujarat Giants will face Tamil Thalaivas in the second match of the day, while Bengal Warriors will face Haryana Steelers in the final match on Saturday.
