France Squad, best player, team guide, starting XI, formation, team strengths & weaknesses for FIFA World Cup 2022

The strength of the starting XI and the breadth of possibilities on the bench make France Squad FIFA World Cup 2022 is the best in the competition position by position. No other team even comes close to matching their caliber. The current world champions are aiming to keep their crown, which hasn’t happened since Brazil ruled the planet in both 1958 and 1962.

France will be eager to defend the crown they won in Russia four years ago when they arrive in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.

Their star-studded team will be hopeful of making another deep run in the competition, but they must be cautious of a recent pattern in which previous champions have failed to advance past their group.

France won the World Cup in 2018 and the UEFA Nations League in 2021, although they were eliminated from the postponed Euros in the Round of 16.

With just one victory in their previous six games, Didier Deschamps’ team will enter the 2022 World Cup in Qatar needing its players to perform under pressure.

With up to 26 players permitted on the final list, manager Deschamps had until Friday, October 21 to submit an official preliminary list of 35–55 players to FIFA from which he would choose his final team for Qatar by Monday, November 14.

Paul Pogba is noticeably missing from the roster because he was declared out of action due to a new thigh injury sustained while recovering from his former knee ailment. Rafaela Pimenta, Pogba’s agent, acknowledged to the media on October 31 that he wouldn’t be ready for the FIFA competition.

Due to an injury, N’Golo Kante was also forced to withdraw from the competition, although Raphael Varane, a defender, was still allowed to play despite suffering a setback before the competition. Due to injury issues, goalkeeper Mike Maignan, running back Boubacar Kamara, and full-back Ferland Mendy of Real Madrid were all benched.

Last but not least, there were late reports that Eduardo Camavinga might not be included, but that turned out to be untrue.

Deschamps initially revealed a 25-man list but said he would add someone at the last minute. Marcus Thuram was a last-minute call-up who was added on November 14. Later that day, the team underwent another change, with Monaco’s Axel Disasi taking the place of Presnel Kimpembe, who had not fully recovered from his injury.

France national team stars, strengths & weaknesses

Despite recent setbacks, the 2018 World Cup champions continue to be among the world’s strongest teams.

In particular, France will have access to a talented combination of young and experienced players in Qatar.

Stars

The undisputed star of this France squad, Kylian Mbappe, scored four goals as a teenager at the most recent World Cup.

The PSG attacker is already halfway to breaking the team’s all-time scoring record, which he will undoubtedly complete in the upcoming years. If France is to prevail in Qatar, his objectives will be essential.

Hugo Lloris, France’s goalkeeper, may not be as glamorous, but if he participates in at least four games at the 2022 World Cup, he would surpass Thierry Henry as the country’s most-capped player.

Strengths

The France team has no shortage of goal scorers. Along with Mbappe, this team has many players capable of stepping up in the final third, including seasoned forwards Karim Benzema and Antoine Griezmann.

Age is also in Les Bleus’ favor coming into Qatar as they will have the ideal mix of youth and experience on the field.

Weaknesses
This France side has a lot of scoring potential, but they also have a tendency to give up more goals than they should.

In their final five games before the 2022 World Cup, they have only managed one clean sheet, and several of their defenders aren’t exactly lights-out performers at the club level. The Raphael Varane injury for Manchester United will raise red flags in a field area that is already fraught with issues.

Due to Pogba and Kante’s injuries, they also have a very weak middle.

France Group FIFA World Cup 2022

For the 2022 World Cup, France will be in Group D with Australia, Denmark, and Tunisia.

In 2018, France was included in a group that also included Australia and Denmark.

The Danes will likely present Les Bleus with their toughest challenge as they strive to win Group D.

France Predicted starting XI

France has to get off to a good start against Australia since Denmark is waiting just four days away and promises to be much tougher.

For this match, Deschamps will probably deploy a solid starting lineup and reserve any experimentation for the Tunisia match, when they may have have secured a position in the Round of 16.

In recent times, Deschamps has favoured a 3-4-1-2 configuration with his fullbacks effectively playing as midfielders. With Eduardo Camavinga anticipated to play, it will be intriguing to see who he starts in midfield with Aurelien Tchouameni. Matteo Guendouzi, Jordan Veretout, and Adrien Rabiot might all get some playing time.
