The goal was Ronaldo’s 700th score in club history, and the manner he celebrated must have felt like he had a monkey off his back. He did not do his signature “Siii” celebration, instead closing his eyes, rolling his head back, and crossing his fingers in front of his chest.
While the video of the same has gone viral, it appears that the new CR7 celebration has also become quite popular, considering the footballer’s status and the reach and popularity that anything he does appears to have. According to Manchester United, during a UEFA Youth League encounter, a player from Benfica copied the new Ronaldo celebration, which was an inside self-deprecating joke.
The young guy performed a quick one-two with his buddy before taking a shot at the keeper, which bounced back to him on the rebound, and he scored before celebrating.
