According to sources, Malik, 22, will now be part of the J&K squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) in Mohali. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has granted the bowler permission to join the J&K team for SMAT. The right-handed pitcher has arrived in Mohali for the Elite Group C encounter against Meghalaya. In the meantime, Kuldeep Sen’s participation in the present Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is in doubt.
Visa Issues Causes Delay
Malik, Sen, and Mohammed Siraj were scheduled to go with the Indian team on October 6 to Perth for their preparation. Siraj was nevertheless chosen for the ODI series against South Africa, although Malik and Sen stayed behind due to visa issues.
