Mumbai Indians sign Jason Behrendorff
The Indian Premier League has confirmed that Australian fast bowler Jason Behrendorff, who was moved from Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2023 season, will return to the Mumbai Indians. This is the first transaction of the season.

Behrendorff was purchased by RCB for his basic price of INR 75 lakh during the 2022 IPL auction. While with Mumbai from 2018 to 2020, the pacer only participated in the title-winning 2019 campaign. He had an economy rate of 8.68 while taking five wickets in five games that year. Behrendorff formerly represented the Chennai Super Kings in 2021 and Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2022 in addition to the Mumbai Indians in 2018.
The left-arm fast has taken 7 wickets in 9 T20Is, with a best bowling performance of 4/21.
The Mumbai Indians finished last in the previous edition of the league, finishing at the bottom of the table. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified for this year’s IPL playoffs, where they were defeated in an eliminator by the Lucknow Super Giants.
